New

I don't think I've officially mentioned here that we will have something new happening next fall. I will be homeschooling Emma!
Certainly, it's not a decision we took lightly. I was homeschooled for part of my school career and I started out homeschooling both of my little ones when they were small.
But it's been a while.
And I'm a full time student with a job too. Not to mention all the other stuff we do.
I'm a little concerned about time,
but I know it's the right thing for her.

There was nothing bad happening - I just sensed she needed a little building-up time with Mom and circumstances aligned with that gut feeling, undeniably leading us into our next adventure.

I don't know how it will be done, but it is right, it is in God's hands and it will work out. And I could not be more excited (and a little bit nervous). So, the search for curriculum begins and I have to notify the school board and all that good stuff. Ugh. I like the actual learning and teaching, but the prep part? Bleah.

She has already been fully welcomed into the music department at my school, has been adopted by a fabulous soprano and will sing with the choir. It's looking like a really good year ahead for Emma!

I am so looking forward to sharing all of our adventures with you.
There is certainly never a dull season here.

I'm so thrilled for you guys! I think that life is such a good teacher and she'll have so many opportunities to let that imagination of hers run free.

I hate planning too, which is why I bought a curriculum with everything planned out already. I highly recommend something like that. A lot of days I give Chloe the plan and just let her have at it. It's really a load off of me and I am so glad we're doing it this way. The whole curriculum search can be daunting, if you need any help let me know :)

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I'm looking into Monarch - the online one from Alpha Omega. I just don't see myself having time to do lesson planning at all, between my own homework and work-work and Andrew's band practices and...and...
You know.
I'm hoping we can let the girls Skype once a week or something. That would be super fun :)

Chloe would love that! Shane has been after us to sign up for Skype for a while now :)

I've heard of Monarch and we do Teaching Textbooks for math. It's all on the computer, lessons and everything. All I have to do is make sure Chloe does it. It's seriously a life saver. I'm just so excited for Emma to not be stuck in a classroom all day.

We do what we need to do so that we can experience life :) It's not the thing for everybody but it works for us.

Never a dull season indeed. You can make me feel lazy quicker than anyone. Stop it.

Seriously, I can't wait to see what you and Emma do with homeschooling at this point. She really is something special.
