Vintage

Here are my choices for this week's assignment. Wanna help me pick which one to turn in? I've simply desaturated these so you get a feel for how they'll be in black and white. I hope the finished B&W will have a bit more depth. Here's my two favorites of Andrew:

I'm thinking, like I said, of only coloring his eyes.
And here's a cool building in Plant City:

It cracks me up that it's so dilapidated, but the sign says "A Cheerful Place for Cheerful People." That also makes me think of a childhood story...
When my little brother (Jon) would have a tantrum, my mom would send him to his room and tell him he couldn't come back out until he was cheerful. Sure enough, within minutes of hearing us walk by his bedroom, talking about having some ice cream, he'd come out, sniffling and red in the face and declare, "I'm cheerful now." So, this building's sign sort of makes me think of it as a time-out house. Which makes me laugh. Oh - also, the awning would be turquoise and the lettering would be red.
And here's a little self portrait:

I'm thinking of coloring the apron's bias trim & cherries red.
Whatcha think?

Oh, wow, good stuff! I'm going to pick picture #1 of Andrew. I'm probably going to be in the minority on that one though. I love his dimples and I'd frame that one but I like the contemplative, moody feel of the first one (actually I'd frame that one too). Love the building in Plant City and I think Turquoise for the awning is fab.

Your self portrait is fantastic! It actually took me a minute to realize that it was you on your porch. It made me think of mom and apple pie- or maybe cherry in this case :)

I agree with Amy that all of them are great. I like the sell-portrait but I gotta love my dimple darling. I want these photos to frame for my desk....can I get them on a jump drive....

I love the self-portrait. Of course, there's the vintage feel, but there's something in the lines of you standing beside the column that really stand out to me.

My favorite of the Andrew pics is the first one. That look on his face seems to fit with the vintage, b&w feel of the photo.

Oh, so many good choices. I like them ALL. I have to agree with Claibornes Corner that the self-portrait is my favorite of all of them. It has a feeling with it and I like a picture that makes me feel something. I love the dimple picture but agree with Amy that the first shot of Andrew has more of a moody feel, and the building is just cool. No matter what you do, I am sure you will score very high.

They are all so good, and Andrew is a little cutie pie, or if he asks "very manly and studly" (he he). :)
However, for the vintage feel, I choose the last one of you in your apron. Awesome pics!

Definitely the first of Andrew. And I have to jump on the bandwagon and say I love that self-portrait! If I were you, once I got done playing with it, I'd have it stretched on canvas and hung in my kitchen (since, if I were you, I'd be fabulous in the kitchen:)).
