Galavanting, Albeit Gingerly

We are still managing Emma's fever.

She does fine during the day and sometime in the late afternoon, she starts getting warm again. Sigh. This feels never-ending. She's feeling pretty sorry for herself, as well she should. I'm honestly enjoying her company, though.
We went out this morning, cameras in both of our hands, to take some pictures for my class.

I'm still working on the assignment from a couple of weeks ago. I have an image pretty much ready for turn-in, but I still want to do one more. I'll show them both soon. I promise.
We were forging through some rural territory today, looking for a house in disrepair. I know what I want to find, I just can't seem to find it. It always goes that way, doesn't it? It doesn't matter if I'm looking for a dress pattern to sew or a hat pattern to knit - I never seem to find quite what I want. In some cases, I just decide to make it up on my own, but it's pretty hard to make up a house that's caved in from the roof.
While on our hunt, though, we did find this lovely specimen:

It's not in bad enough shape to use for my assignment, but I love it very much. I kind of wanted to move in right on the spot. I would have coffee on that porch, sitting in a rocking chair, every morning. And if I lived in that house, I'd need to get my dream car. It's an old, blue pickup truck with curvy lines and spots of rust here and there. Yep. That's my dream car.
Emma thought it might be nice to live there too. She was hoping the horses in a nearby pasture came with the house. It's been a bit chilly and she noted that they were still "wearing their blankets." She thought this was unbearably cute.

Daily Bliss: i made cookies and everybody really liked them. a lot.

Awww, I feel bad for Emma but I know it's so nice to hang out with your best girl. I love the house. I'm so surprised that your dream car is a rusty old truck :) I mean, I wouldn't have thought it was a Porsche or anything...but I wouldn't have thought of that either. Leave it to you...to make me laugh while I'm drinking coffee.

Christy...I have always wanted an old truck. I've told Kris that many times and he sort of looks worried. There is actually a blue one sitting in the yard of someone's house we pass on the way to school each day and it says "for sale." I'm not there yet though. I can't have a truck like that unless I still have something to hold car seats. I don't think we're ready for a third car yet. :) Someday though...someday.

I could show you the perfect old house too if you lived here. It's definitely in the caving in stage.

I was hoping when I saw on facebook that you and Emma were gallivanting, that she was feeling better. I hope that "back to herself" is right around the corner.

I'm so glad I will see you weekly now and be able to partake in eating your amazing cookies! And I thought I was the only one who's dream car was a old beat up pick up truck. I'm with Mary on the car seats. As soon as we can afford a "fun" car, I will get my dream :)

Mary and Jessica - I would not have guessed that I had so much camaraderie regarding the old truck love :) I knew you guys were super cool!
Amy - hope the coffee didn't come out your nose...

I saw a few houses today along SRs 27, 17-92, and 29 that would work for the photo. I thought of you when I saw them.
