Oranges

This is the first year we've gotten any measure of oranges from our baby tree in the back yard. It's been really fun to pick them. Chris observed this evening that oranges you grow yourself taste so much better than oranges you buy somewhere else.

I think he's right.
I have been sucking down these babies, trying to fend off all the nasty viruses being passed around here with a giant dose of Vitamin C.
Hope it works!

I was always disappointed at the way home-grown oranges look. They weren't all shiny and pretty. Of course, I thought it was a tragedy that our family ended up with the only grapefruit trees in the neighborhood. It was fun to throw them at other kids though :) Not that I ever did that.

Home-grown fruit most definitely tastes better and I think baby orange trees are so cute. I'm silly.

That sounds just wonderful. I love that your backyard is being fruitful. :)

We have a "cocktail" tree that was covered with oranges and grapefruit this year. This was the first year for the oranges and you are right, they taste oh-so-good when they are from your own backyard! Nice pic! :) Down the vitamin C girl!

...and you're the one that enjoys picnics in the orange orchard--so when will the blooms start?
